    Hello Lake Shore Parents,
Please join us on the second Wednesday of the month at the Very Involved Parents of Shorians meeting,  7:00 p.m. in the Media Center.  If you are interested in helping and/or have some questions, please contact Betsy Castro, VIP Chair by email at vip@lsps.org, or phone (586) 219-3229.

Welcome to the 2011 – 2012 School Year!
Welcome to the Very Involved Parents of Shorians page.  We are a group of parents working together to lend a hand in making the high school experience both positive and rewarding for our kids.  To be successful, we need and welcome parents who are willing and able to spend a little bit of time volunteering to help with events like the Homecoming Dance and the Senior All Night Party.  Going forward, as a group we would like to become even more involved, working on more projects and doing some fund raising when necessary.
We meet every month during the school year – except for December – on the second Wednesday of the month.  On the agenda each month we will have an update on the Senior All Night Party, a general school update and Q & A session with Principal Bowers, and a presentation from an invited guest speaker.  Previous topics have included using the Parent Portal, Legislative Update, Financial Planning for the College Years, applying for Financial Aid, Distance Learning Lab, MEAP testing, LifeSkills, college prep/testing and “next year’s curriculum.” This is also a forum for the administration to solicit input on parents’ ideas and opinions.
If you haven’t already joined the email list, please take a moment to send a message to vip@lsps.org to join the list…. and fit a meeting or two into your own schedule to meet some other parents and learn some valuable information.
You can make a difference and together everyone achieves more!
