Statement of Purpose
Indian Education is a Federal program, now under Title VI, whose purpose is "to support the local school district in its effort to provide Indian students the opportunity to achieve high standards and meet the special educational and culturally related academic needs of American Indian and Alaska Native students." E.D.G.A.R. 34 CFR Section 9102 (a.)
This program serves Native American students in Lake Shore Public Schools, South Lake, Lakeview, Roseville, Fraser, East Detroit and Harper Woods school districts.
Any student registered in our program can be involved in activities. A form called the 506 form must be completed to be considered registered. Although a Tribal Enrollment number is preferred, a parent/guardian can register their child if they have the minimum information of student name, tribal affiliation, and a parent signature. Please e-mail or phone our office for a registration form.
